Clan Donald Canada Corporation is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to the preservation of the legacy of our great and storied clan. The MacDonalds once controlled a sea-Kingdom along the West Coast and Islands of Gaelic Scotland. The rulers of this Lordship of the Isles were known in Gaelic as Triath nan Eilean or Rìgh Innse Gall. As head of the Gaels, the MacDonalds were great patrons and supporters of the Gaelic arts and that tradition continues today.
After the fall of the second Jacobite rebellion in 1745 and 1746 and later as a result of the Highland Clearances, many Clan Donald kinsfolk and their fellow Hebrideans and Highlanders were forced to leave their homeland. Many of them Came to Canada and helped to build this great nation.

Clan Donald Canada members gather every year at our annual general meeting. Our various branches also host events throughout the year including ceilidhs, BBQs, regional meetings and more!

Clan Donald Canada and it’s regional branches send conveners to represent us at various Highland Games and Scottish Festivals every summer.
